What LawpalAI does, and who it's built for
About LawpalAI
LawpalAI is an AI legal assistant built specifically for Nigerian law. It brings legal research, document drafting, and contract review into a single conversation — grounded in an indexed library of Nigerian case law, statutes, and legal textbooks, so the answers you get are traceable back to real authorities, not just plausible-sounding text.
We built it because legal work in Nigeria is too often slowed down by the sheer volume of material a good answer requires — cases to find, statutes to cross-reference, precedent to align with. LawpalAI does that groundwork in minutes, so the people using it can spend their time on judgment, not lookup.
Our Mission
To make rigorous legal research and drafting fast enough that it fits into anyone's workflow — a law firm's, a judge's chambers, a student's revision, or a member of the public trying to understand where they stand — without cutting corners on the accuracy that legal work demands.
Who Uses LawpalAI
LawpalAI serves everyone who has to work with Nigerian law, not just one corner of the profession:
- Lawyers — faster research and first drafts across litigation, corporate, property, and family practice.
- Judges and chambers — quick, citable grounding on precedent and statute during preparation.
- Law students — a way to explore case law and legal reasoning with real sources attached.
- The public — plain-language answers to legal questions, before deciding whether to see a lawyer.
What We Stand For
Grounded, not generic
Every answer and draft is built on indexed Nigerian case law, statutes, and legal texts — not open-ended guesswork.
Built for everyone in the room
Lawyers, judges, law students, and the public all use LawpalAI — so it has to be rigorous and genuinely easy to use.
Security by default
End-to-end encryption, strict access controls, and a zero-access policy protect every document and conversation.
Honest about its limits
LawpalAI cites its sources so you can verify them, and is upfront that it supports legal judgment — it doesn't replace it.
What LawpalAI Does
- Legal research — ask a question in plain language and get an answer synthesized from indexed Nigerian case law and statutes, with citations to the specific authorities relied on.
- Document drafting — describe the agreement, letter, or court process you need and get a structured first draft, refined through conversation and saved with version history.
- Document review — upload a contract or agreement (PDF or Word) and get its clauses, risks, and unusual terms explained in plain language.
- Firm and team accounts — law firms get a dedicated dashboard to manage members and see usage across the team, alongside the individual chat experience.
Where LawpalAI Fits
LawpalAI is built to sit alongside professional legal judgment, not replace it. It's a research and drafting accelerator — every research answer cites the authorities behind it so you can verify them yourself, and every draft is a starting point meant for review, not a final legal opinion. For matters with real legal consequences, a qualified lawyer should always be the one to sign off.
We keep building on that foundation: expanding the case law, statute, and book index the AI draws on, and refining how it explains its reasoning, so the people relying on LawpalAI can trust not just the answer, but where it came from.
