How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in page, click 'Forgot password', enter the email address on your account, and you'll receive a reset link. If you originally signed up with Google, use that provider's sign-in button instead — there's no separate LawpalAI password to reset. New passwords (whether at signup or reset) need at least 8 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, a number, and a special character — this is required for every account, to keep it harder to guess or break into.

Traffic to LawpalAI is encrypted in transit, passwords are never stored in plain text, and every page is served with modern browser security protections (including safeguards against clickjacking and cross-site scripting). Sign-in attempts are rate-limited and an account temporarily locks after repeated failed password attempts, so guessing your way in isn't practical. Access to your account data is restricted to what's needed to run the service, on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. Yes, from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems in line with our Privacy Policy; some records may be retained briefly where we're legally required to keep them.

After several failed password attempts in a row, LawpalAI temporarily locks the account for a short cooldown period before you can try again. This is a deliberate security measure to stop someone else from repeatedly guessing your password — it isn't an error, and the account unlocks on its own after the cooldown. If you can't remember your password, use 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page instead of continuing to guess.

Will I ever be asked to allow notifications, and is that safe to accept?

The first time you're signed in, LawpalAI may show a one-time prompt asking whether you'd like to receive push notifications (for things like support ticket replies or announcements) — you can accept or decline, and your choice is remembered. Declining doesn't limit anything else about your account; you can change your mind anytime from Notification settings in your profile.

Cancelling is immediate, not deferred to the end of your billing period — as soon as you confirm, you move to the free Legal Explorer plan and lose access to the paid plan's higher usage limits right away, so only cancel once you're sure. If you change your mind, you can subscribe again at any time.

Yes — you'll get an in-app notification (the bell icon in the header) and, if you've enabled them, a push notification for replies to your support tickets and for status updates on feedback you've posted or upvoted.
